Music, motion and cross modal associations

Does a rising scale elicit an image of moving upwards? Towards or away from us? Does it sound increasing in speed? Does a falling scale elicit the reverse sensation? How can a musical passage portray a bright color? A sharp object?  These are some of the questions that interest us in studying the connection between music, motion and visual percepts.
